Just got back from a really good Onsen hotel in Yunishikawa.


Yunishikawa; Where the snow never stops.


It's pretty amazing...3 hours north of Tokyo in a small town called Yunishikawa and you are in the BOONIES.







It's a new place so not too busy but I would recommend it for a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo.
It's tucked into the side of the mountain and very secluded.

山の横に隠れていて、人里離れたところにあります。

平家の落人たちがひっそりと隠れて暮らしていた落人の里です。

Great to just chill and relax in the hot water. 

Onsen: I chilled in the hot springs at day and night. It's incredible how good it is.

Ohhhh, is this the reason we're all wearing homing beacons around our waist??









Equally good is the sushi. Kids in the US: When you go to a Japanese restaurant, this is what sushi is supposed to look like! 

















Conditions are amazing. 









The area is famous for its "onsen" (or hot springs). But if you don't have time to visit them, try this where you dip your feet into natural hot spring water while sipping tea. 
この地域は「温泉」が有名です。でも、温泉につかる時間が無ければお茶をしながら足湯につかることをお勧めします。

Unfortunately, the time has come to leave Yunishikawa. It's been simply incredible. 

Anyway, I did enjoy myself nevertheless. Dumps of fresh powder, natural volcanic hot springs, amazing food...can't be topped.

The sights, smells, tastes and people...they all add up the collective conscious.
