BACK TO SAN FRANCISCO.
After being away for so long...its always the same. An equally long amount of time is required in opening mail, messages, packages, etc. Here are some items that brought a smile to my face:

I haven't been to San Francisco since August of 2003. Even still, I consider San Francisco my 3rd home (behind Ibaraki and Okinawa); so it was good to come back to the bloc. The best attribute of San Francisco, (observed back in '03)is still true today: Creativity for no apparent purpose. As in NYC, there is no end game to everything. There's no strong desire for fame. People do their craft simply because they want to. The city seems to foster this thinking. There are so many stores, artists, people, galleries and businesses where you ask yourself "WHAT? HOW? WHY?" And the answer is usually simply, "It's San Francisco, man. San Francisco." Rents and real estate at rock bottom prices. And a huge liberal influx of different artists, cultures and people make for great ingredients to an exciting city. It's what I love about San Francisco. And it's why I am happy to be back. 2003年の8月以来のアメリカ訪問です。サンフランシスコは僕の第3の故郷だと思っているので（茨城と沖縄の次）、また訪れることが出来てとてもいい気分でした。
SAFEWAY
まずは、SAFEWAY。ホテルのそばにあるスーパーマーケットです。早朝や深夜も営業しているので大変便利です。

Must see music venues.
In San Francisco’s old “Harlem of the West”, Yoshi’s is strategically located, close to Japantown, but also right on famous Fillmore Street, where a jazz renaissance once lived some 60 years ago. An inexpensive parking garage just across the street from the club was surrounded by closely positioned restaurants and luxurious apartment buildings.
ベイエリアで有名なジャズ・クラブと言えば、オークランドのYoshi's。このYoshi'sがサンフランシスコのフィルモア・ストリートにも店を構えました。
Spicy Dragon. Shrimp tempura, unagi, avocado, tsume, spicy aioli
California. Snow crab and avocado
"Hari - Hari" Salad
Gyu Tongue Sendai-Style 4 oz. flash grilled with yuzu salt, "ao togarashi" miso, chopped sesami negi
結構美味しいです。盛ってあるので分かりづらいですが、結構ボリュームあります。
Gindara "Black Cod" 6 oz. marinated in saikyo miso, served with kinoko mushroom-soy ankake broth
身も結構多い。ピースは2つ。
Yoshi's の料理長は日本人で、魚介系の食材を築地から空輸するなど、結構しっかりした和食を出してくれます。内容的には高級居酒屋という感じですね。
日本人としても楽しめました。丁寧に仕事してあるので、外国の方にもオススメできますね。
で、食事の後はジャズクラブに移動。

First, Yoshi’s Jazz Club is large enough to seat over 100 people, but still small enough for intimacy. There isn’t a bad seat in the house.

ジャズを聴き始めて約15年、たくさんのライヴを観てきたが、カート・エリングのステージは、最高の部類に入ります。

John Lee Hooker's famous club and home to blues and boogie in San Francisco!
I used to come here weekends and had a great time. There was a really good mixed crowd, hip music, and a great bar. The service was fast too.
最高にキタナくて最高にエグいけど最高にファンキーなORGONEはヤバイ！
A sultry, down-home Juke Joint providing cocktails, dancing live Blues, Boogie, Groove & Soul music six nights a week. If you love music and boogying, you've gotta come party. The Boom Boom Room is the hippest, low-light, straight-up funky club on the West coast!
The Boom Boom Room plays the blues and it's authentic down to the very last note. Drafts are flowing and the rhythm and blues are alive and kicking in the Fillmore corridor.
This place has a really cool vibe. It's very good blues bar. It's a little dark inside but that's one of the things that make it nice. It's not that big so get there early if the show is going to sell out!
Orgone
The room is a marvel of sound engineering...This is the blues and soul performed in an environment that's as real as it can get.

It's a comfortable place with good energy and an interesting atmosphere. The price isn't expensive considering the acts that perform there are tried and true or just the very best of today. Intimate and soulful. Bring lots of friends with you, you're guaranteed to have a ball.
